This is What Nancy Pelosi's "Armageddon" Looks Like: Wal Mart Increases Minimum Wage Gives Huge Bonuses and Family Leave Benefits Citing Trump Tax Bill

Pelosi and the Democrats fought Trump's plan every step of the way and are now denigrating the good news for millions of America's lowest wage workers!

Once again, Dems are on the wrong side when it comes to helping America's lowest wage workers.  First, Pelosi and company demanded tax cuts for state and local income taxes that only the wealthy would collect (tax cuts for the rich) and Pelosi derided the bill Trump signed saying it was "Armageddon... the end of the world."

In an open letter to Wal Mart associates, CEO Doug McMillon credited the Trump Tax Cut for the windfall to workers:
We’ve got some really good news to share today. As you know, the President and Congress have approved a lower business tax rate. Given these changes, we have an opportunity to accelerate a few pieces of our investment plan. We plan to continue investing in you, in our customers through lower prices, and in our future--especially in technology to help improve your jobs and the experience for our customers.

So, we’re pleased to tell you that we’re raising our starting wage to $11 an hour for Walmart U.S., Sam’s Club, Supply Chain, eCommerce and Home Office hourly associates effective in February.

We’re also providing a one-time bonus to hourly associates that pays a larger amount the longer you’ve been with our company. Associates that don’t benefit from the new starting wage increase are eligible for the bonus and it will range from $200 to $1,000 depending on your length of service.
Wal Mart is also expanding family and maternity leave as well as adding adoption benefits.

Democrats have long demanded higher wages for workers but they find no joy in this news. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) derided the good news calling the wage increases and bonuses "crumbs" and "pathetic." Workers who benefit may feel otherwise and the GOP will have to remind voters this fall who stood in their way:

P.S. Survey finds economists credit Trump for economic growth.
The list of companies giving bonuses and pay raises. Some "crumbs" hunh!
